To help ensure the continued preservation of Mongolian culture and heritage, EJC was established to bridge the latest international innovations, platforms and scholarship with existing initiatives, institutions and leading figures within the cultural sector of Mongolia to ensure that future generations can not only enjoy the rich cultural heritage of Mongolia, but to introduce and spread the unique and invaluable nuances of Mongolian culture to a wider and international audience.

Let's Talk

“Let’s Talk”: Addressing the Mental Health of Mongolia’s Youth Post COVID-19

The project “Let’s Talk”: Addressing the Mental Health of Mongolian Youth aims to understand the mental health issues Mongolian youth currently face and understand how COVID-19 affected their overall mental health. 

The project, funded by the Embassy of New Zealand in Beijing, will be carried out in 3 parts. 

  1. EJC, in collaboration with universities and schools across Mongolia, will carry out a “Mental Health Survey” that aims to understand the mental health realities and needs of students in Mongolia. 

Through a series of questions that enquire after the mental health of Mongolia Youth pre, during, and post Covid-19, this survey will be used to analyze current issues and trends in order to encourage positive actions that address and help the mental health concerns and needs of Mongolian Youth. 

2. EJC, in partnership with the Graduate University of Mongolia, will organize a training workshop titled “Let’s Talk: Mental Health Counseling Skills for Teachers Training Workshop. 

The workshop will aim to train university and high school teachers on the foundations of mental health counseling and day-to-day crisis response. The workshop aims to introduce how to navigate the mental health needs and concerns of students and how to respond to student’s mental health crises’.

The training workshop will be taught by Jennifer Wolverton, Dean of the Department of Psychology at Mongolia International University. Jennifer has extensive over 20 years of experience working as a counselor in Mongolia and the United States. She currently works at and runs the MIU Counseling Center. 

  1. EJC, in partnership with Norphei Art Gallery and the Association of Mongolia Photographers will organize a World Mental Health Day 2024 Photography Competition. Select entries will be featured in a week-long special exhibition at Norphei Art Gallery.
